Re: FA Cup
Mike - Hopefully Altrincham will squeeze through on the replay, as train links are good from Leeds so we can have a few in Manchester then get a train out to the leafy suburbs. They should win the replay against Gateshead being a division higher and at home but you never know. Don't really fancy going to the Gateshead running track again, pretty soulless and I wonder when the last time it was full was?

Good 2nd round draw or not?

Re: FA Cup
In the past I have followed both Chelmsford and Hendon in the FA Cup earlier rounds.

My favourite matches were watching Hendon draw at home 2-2 to Orient in 1997 and then beating them away at Brisbane Road. Hendon had Junior Lewis, Jermain Darlington, who both went on to have league careers with Leicester and Wimbledon, respectively, and former West Ham youth player, Simon Clarke playing for them.

Re: FA Cup
Mex - lt wasn't quite the big time with only one stand open and three sides closed! I think it holds about 8000 with about 1000 there, £15 to get in! Really like not knowing where we're going until the draw, Yeovil away would be quite a trip but wouldn't mind it!!

Re: FA Cup
Just on train back to Leeds, first half was dire, second half much better, not great in quite a large stadium with the running track when we have been used to being pitch side. Thought Gateshead would win easily when 2 nil up with 10 minutes to go but fair play to Altrincham for getting the draw. They should go on to win the replay being a division higher but they are close so wouldn't write off Gateshead. Not fussed for next round, but wouldn't mind somewhere different to Gateshead.

Re: FA Cup
On the train from Leeds to Newcastle for Gateshead v Altrincham today. Newcastle not playing at home, thank fuck, so a few beers in Newcastle before Metro to Gateshead. Running track around the pitch, so should feel at home. Train is boiling, crowded and not cheap £50 return!!

Violator - if that's Tom H you're talking about then yeah - cant be easy being on the bench week in week out.

Hopefully he enjoys it at Cray much more.

My mate's boy left Angels a few weeks ago, couldnt really get any game time so has gone to Cray Wanderers. Pity, i was hoping to possibly see him play when Welling hosted Angels.

Re: FA Cup
Pretty well one iron

We lost 1 first choice centre back early on so he has played a fair bit - occasionally in a more midfield role - but looks a good signing

We are punching a little above our weight at this level and have a thin squad but he is in good hands with macca and mooro

Re: FA Cup
Would have preferred to go to Altrincham but debating whether to go to Newcastle for a few beers then get the Metro down to Gateshead. Will have to check if the deluded ones are at home that Saturday, don't really fancy being in a pub full of them thinking they are going to win the Prem next season!

Re: FA Cup
Hard luck one iron

I saw at Albans earlier this season v the Angels - they didn't look all that before the game was abandoned due a nasty injury. Not a patch on where they were last season in the NLS.

I watched the Angels to out to Hayes and yeading in the second round. We got stuffed 5=0. H&Y played some super stuff - and given they have just dumped Dorking out last night now face Sutton in the first round proper.

Wouldn't be the worst bet in the round...........

Re: FA Cup
I really hope the casuals turn St Albans over and cop the prize money.
£16.50 admittance price for a conference south club is a blatant rip off and I think they have gone cashless too.
I went there a couple of seasons back and got locked in the park after trying to get out the way we entered.

41.25/1 that double. That’s obviously winning in 90 mins.
